# Consider the Sun. **It's the object by which we measure the years on Earth, and yet our calendar largely ignores it.** **Since ancient times we have used a calendar based on the phases of the moon to measure our journey around the Sun.** **It's nonsensical. This is compounded by the fact that we have had a date measuring system based on the Sun going all the way back to ancient Babylon.** **I am of course speaking of the Zodiac, the region of space in the apparent path of the Sun. It's essentially analogous to our current calendar, but based on the Sun rather than the Moon.** **The signs of the zodiac are, in order, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces.** **With the equivalent dates, it can be displayed as:** - ♈ [Aries](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/aries.md): March 21 - April 19 - ♉ [Taurus](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/taurus.md): April 20 - May 20 - ♊ [Gemini](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/gemini.md): May 21 - June 20 - ♋ [Cancer](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/cancer.md): June 21 - July 22 - ♌ [Leo](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/leo.md): July 23 - August 22 - ♍ [Virgo](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/virgo.md): August 23 - September 22 - ♎ [Libra](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/virgo.md): September 23 - October 22 - ♏ [Scorpio](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/scorpio.md): October 23 - November 21 - ♐ [Sagittarius](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/sagittarius.md): November 22 - December 21 - ♑ [Capricorn](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/capricorn.md): December 22 - January 19 - ♒ [Aquarius](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/aquarius.md): January 20 - February 18 - ♓ [Pisces](https://github.com/nazrinrat/veda-warez/blob/master/pisces.md): February 19 - March 20 You'll note that there's no seasonal ambiguity, here: Spring begins on the first day of Aries, Summer on the first day of Cancer, Fall on the first day of Libra, and Winter on the first day of Capricorn. This is because the solstices and equinoxes are already based on the Sun. The year begins, as it did historically, in what we would now call March. The symbolism of the cold Winter giving way to Spring as a new year begins is more intuitive than beginning the new year in the dead of Winter. The date as of writing this page is Halloween: October 31st, 2019. I would render this as the 8th of Scorpio. Other dates of note: - Christmas Day: 4th of Capricorn - 4th of July: 14th of Cancer - 9/11: 20th of Virgo - Valentine's Day: 26th of Aquarius - St Patrick's Day: 27th of Pisces - Armistice Day: 20th Scorpio Note: If you are a programmer with the ability to make this a visible calandar whether via a program or a webpage, PLEASE contact me @VEDIC_CYBERGOD on Twitter!
